After having lived many years 'away' in Toronto, Montréal and Ottawa, my husband and I, along with our little rabbit Nim, returned home to Prince Edward Island for good in 2012. Little Nim has since passed away and after some time we were fortunate to come across another rescue bunny named Roman. He is adorable and keeps us on our toes!

While in Montréal, I earned honours in both Graphic Design and Professional Photography programs.

Since returning home (in between working full-time) I have setup an online Studio named StoppenLook.
You can see a little more of what I've been up to by visiting my Blog or Professional Portfolio Section.

We bought a little 'teapot' house in town about six years ago and I spend many hours working in our gardens and, bit by bit, we are fixing up our forever home. We both love nature and going for walks out and about our beautiful Island drinking in all it has to offer. It's so nice to be home again.

I am a juried member of the PEI Crafts Council. You can find my work at their Gallery - 98 Water Street, Charlottetown, PE.
You can also find my work in my GalleryShop here online.

I welcome any questions or inquires - please see my Contact Us page.

I am a retired teacher/librarian, a storyteller and a writer.
I enjoy sharing the world of children's books and the wealth of local stories with friends and family, especially my two delightful grandchildren. Like my iconic idol, L. M. Montgomery, I have a fondness for cats and live with two feline friends in Charlottetown.
As Mrs. Buttons,* I look forward to sharing thoughts on some favorite children's books through StoppenLook!

*A word about the name, Mrs. Buttons -
A few summers ago I picked up a one-pound bag of miscellaneous buttons that took my eye. I soon realized that some of the prettiest had matches in another bag, which I bought as well. I meticulously sorted my buttons into small sectioned boxes which I added to at every chance. Two bags grew to twelve! At twelve pounds(!!) a dear aunt smilingly handed me a photo of my great-great grandmother beautifully dressed in an outfit buttoned from neck to toe. My sister Wlna burst into laughter when she heard and saw how many buttons in my treasure trove - she hugged me and dubbed me Mrs. Buttons.

You can find our "rack cards" (info postcards) at Avonlea Village in the Artisan Studio and the larger tourist bureaus on the Island. (See front and back images below)
